H.U. Lee Memorial Foundation and Raritan Valley ATA Announce Scholarship Awards
Branchburg (NJ)— Raritan Valley ATA (RVATA) worked with the H.U. Lee Memorial Foundation (HULF) during the past year to raise money for Region 110A students. Region 110A as a whole raised over $22,000 to support the annual HULF scholarship program. The monies will be distributed on both a National and Regional level with nearly $10,000 being gifted to ATA students in this Region at varying levels of high school and college. The monies can be used for any academic expense and does not include National scholarship money, which is also being awarded.
Brian Peterson, owner and chief instructor at RVATA said “The H.U. Lee Memorial Foundation is an extremely important part of our philanthropy efforts. We hold small events during the course of the year, which add up to a big impact. Our (RVATA) Students have trained in leadership, discipline and perseverance, which makes them very successful academic students. Our contribution to these scholarships helps give them the support they need while they are on campus and reward them for their continued dedication to living a black belt life.”
High school students with a 3.0+ GPA, and post-high school students who are members in good standing of ATA are able to apply for a HULF Scholarship. National finalists are selected and made aware of their gifts separately. All applicants must meet their instructors’ requirements, and exemplify skills obtained through Songahm Taekwondo training.
