The students and competitors at Raritan Valley ATA in Branchburg have finished the regular tournament year with 18 State Championships. With eight competitors in the running this year, RVATA has champions in forms, traditional weapons, combat sparring, sparring and creative weapons. The school was also honored to have three students ranked in the World Top Ten during the course of the season in four events.

“Comparatively, we are a small school, and our competitors success speaks to their dedication and quality work ethic” said Brian Peterson, school owner, “We should not be competing on this level against schools three or four times larger than we are, however not only are we holding our own, we are winning in a big way.”

Students will now go on to test their abilities against the best athletes in the District on June 9-10 in Lancaster, PA. The Northeast District is comprised of athletes from Virginia to Maine and across to western Pennsylvania. Winners at the tournament are invited to compete for the title of World Champion in Phoenix, AZ during the second full week of July.
